PTI Parliamentary Party Meeting: No-Confidence Motion Against Salman Akram Raja

Islamabad: During a recent meeting of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentary party, members expressed no confidence in Secretary General Salman Akram Raja and decided to initiate a motion against him.
Sources revealed that members criticized Raja for being a non-political figure, arguing that he is unsuitable for the role of Secretary General as he fails to accurately convey party messages and leadership directives.
The meeting highlighted conflicts between Salman Akram Raja and several senior party leaders, including Ali Zafar, Alia Hamza, and Mishal Yousafzai, with reports of verbal abuse and confrontations.
Members stated that since Raja became the head of the party’s legal committee, he has not met with the party’s founder, and he failed to issue a scheduled call for protests in November despite being tasked to do so.
The session also witnessed verbal clashes among party members themselves, reflecting deepening internal tensions and discord within the parliamentary group.

Members emphasized that Raja should be removed from the position of Secretary General, noting that his responsibilities are limited to heading the legal committee, and his performance in political leadership matters has been inadequate.
Sources added that unless party directives and messages are communicated promptly, the unity and political strategy of the party could be compromised, making immediate action crucial.
